Why Am I Posting This?

For some unknown reason I've had a desire to get a Shofar for a while now. Yeah I know, what possible use would I have for one of those? I don't have a clue, I just want one. So what's the problem you ask, just go buy one. Apparently there's more kinds of Shofar's then one would imagine at the beginning.

I know roughly what I want, a longer one, 34" or more. I'd prefer a polished finish and white instead of mahogany. And it has to be a real Shofar not one of those synthetic ones. The ones I've seen online close to what I want are between $170 and $250(Okay, okay the one I really want is $500).

The problem is I don't really feel comfortable buying something like that without seeing it first. Each one is unique so I want to pick mine own out. Which lead me to make some phone calls earlier; right, no one within a hundred miles knows what it is much less has one. So I guess the Shofar is on hold for a while until I can get to Huston or somewhere where I can find a place that has them.

Well I went ahead and bought an expansion pack for Settlers of Canton today, well I actually got two but that's beside the point. One of them was just for more players, which will be completely wasted if we just play it with the family like we've been doing.

Since I was buying games I went ahead and got 1856. I've been interested in getting something that was more of a financial game then what we play now. Although I'm not sure if anyone is interested in it but me. I thought the same thing about Starcraft and we've been enjoying it tremendously. However I think 1856 is a game I'll like to play against myself, for a while at lest.

One other thing I've wanted for a while was a 3D puzzle of Notre Dame(I know I spelled that wrong somewhere). So I looked it up, $210... FOR A PUZZLE??? I don't think so. So I got another one that I can't remember what it was called but it was for $30 so I liked it. The bad part is I found a 12,000 piece puzzle(no that is not a typo), which was for $300, but I can understand that, it'd take a year to put it together and a table the size of my bedroom(and I'm not talking about my old 6x6 bedroom either). So that's now on my "stuff to buy" list.

All in all I got two expansions, one completely new game and one puzzle. Not bad. I really thought about getting the Carcassonne big box, we already have the basic game but it'd be cheaper to get the set instead of buying everything separate. However it would have been a little more expensive then I wanted to spend all together and Carcassonne is sorta low on my list.

Well I think that's all that is going on now, hopefully I'll start posting again.
